Laborers-Employers Cooperation & Education Trust utilizes labor-management cooperation to meet competitive challenges
facing union sector work
Together, Labor and Management can
generate business opportunities for union contractors and job
opportunities for LIUNA members.
Combining Strengths
In today's highly
competitive global economy, North America must collectively pursue a
proactive strategy. The reality is that neither workers nor
employers can do it alone. The key is to combine our strengths,
talents and skills to fortify our position in the marketplace.
Cooperation between labor and management increases productivity,
efficiency and job security.
Project and Job Tracking
The Cooperation Trust Tracking System (CTTS) tracks
construction projects throughout the United States. The CTTS
program currently tracks close to 20,000 projects and contains
information on more than 500 contractors in the CTTS system,
including:
- General
contractors
- Subcontractors
- Construction
managers
- Minority,
disadvantaged, and women owned business enterprises
Legislative and
Regulatory Assistance
The Corporation Trust provides legislative
and regulatory support to signatory contractors on market related
issues at the Federal, State and Local levels.
Marketing Assistance
The Cooperation Trust aggressively markets union
construction initiatives and policy perspectives. Through
editorials, informational brochures, news bulletins and quarterly
newsletter, among other public relations endeavors, the Cooperation
Trust ensures that the concerns of its members are made known to
policymakers, industry participants and the public.
Research Assistance
The Cooperation Trust provides signatory contractors
with access to information on legislative, regulatory and market
issues. The Trust also conducts seminars and conferences to
address a variety of contractor and workers concerns, including
workers' compensation reform, government contracting, and OSHA penalty
avoidance, among others.
